Laps Games' upcoming sandbox RPG, Valorborn, will launch into Steam Early Access for PC on April 15, 2026. The announcement was made during IGN Fan Fest, marking the studio's next project after Land of the Vikings.
Set in a systemic medieval fantasy world, Valorborn offers a player-driven experience where the world evolves independently. It features a living simulation where villagers have routines, factions compete, and dangers persist regardless of player intervention. Every building and location is fully enterable, enhancing immersion.
Players can choose their path, becoming thieves, sellswords, or other classic fantasy roles, with the option to adventure alone or in a party. The game includes Permadeath, making choices highly impactful. The story begins after the fall of the magic-dependent Empire of Allarion, with the Early Access setting in the anti-magic kingdom of Thareon.
Developers have outlined future features for the full release, including race selection, varied backstories, and starting positions for deeper roleplaying.
