The Entry-Level Alternative
Positioned as a more accessible option, the standard PlayStation Pulse headset offers a simplified feature set. This model reduces the number of driver magnets to four, which may impact bass performance and overall audio clarity. Furthermore, this version lacks active noise cancellation and the physical game-chat balance slider, and it relies on an integrated microphone rather than an external boom attachment.
Market Outlook and Compatibility
While Sony has yet to confirm pricing details for either model, the competitive landscape—dominated by established third-party manufacturers—will make value a critical factor for prospective buyers.
