This week, Android Central's Nick Sutrich tested Viture Beast smart glasses with the Motorola Razr Fold 2026. Unlike standard phones that simply mirror the screen, Motorola offers a special menu on the glasses for launching games, movies, video chats, or turning the phone into a laptop replacement.

As smartphones grow more capable, Sutrich finds his travel bag lighter. Smartphones have replaced cameras for many, and laptops may soon follow, based on his experience with the Razr Fold.

Motorola Smart Connect software makes the transition seamless, linking devices and working across platforms, not just Motorola products. This allows users to carry over digital belongings regardless of the platform.

Recent VR headsets like Apple Vision Pro and Samsung Galaxy XR aimed to be 'laptops for your face' but remained too pricey. In contrast, XR smart glasses like Xreal 1S or Viture Beast cost a fraction, offer a sleeker design, and fit easily into travel bags.

These glasses plug directly into the phone, eliminating the need to install apps or transfer files. Motorola's Smart Connect provides a desktop-like UI when glasses are connected, resembling a PC interface.

For enhanced productivity, Sutrich recommends a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, such as a Logitech keyboard with a built-in trackpad. Pairing via Bluetooth requires no extra setup.

When smart glasses are plugged in, a menu appears for desktop, TV, video call, or gaming modes. The Razr Fold's screen becomes a trackpad, offering convenient fallback navigation.

Users can slide the on-screen cursor with their thumb and tap to select. Desktop Mode displays a familiar UI with a mouse cursor, enabling gaming, browsing, Google Drive, Gmail, and more, with window management like a PC.

Additionally, the GameHub app from Google Play allows playing Steam games natively on the Razr Fold, replacing devices like a Steam Deck. Sutrich recently tested Viture Beast glasses with a controller, further reducing travel gear.
