SanDisk has refreshed its core range of portable SSDs with a new three-tier lineup. The top-of-the-range SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD achieves transfer speeds of up to 4000MB/s read and 3800MB/s write, enabling users to move 10 minutes of 12K footage in under 60 seconds. It is the fastest portable SSD ever from SanDisk, likely using a USB4 interface, though SanDisk has not confirmed this. Capacities include 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB, with IP65-rated water and dust resistance and 3-meter drop protection. Availability and pricing are expected in the second half of 2026.

The mid-range SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD offers 2000MB/s read speeds, IP65 protection, and 3-meter drop resistance. It measures 3.35 by 2 by 0.39 inches for easy portability. Capacities of 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB are available now, priced at $259.99, $459.99, and $919.99, respectively. A 500GB version is planned for later this year.

The entry-level SanDisk Portable SSD targets casual users with speeds up to 1000MB/s via USB 3.2 Gen 2. It offers drop protection from up to 2 meters but no IP rating. Available in the second half of 2026 in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB sizes. Notably, SanDisk reuses product names across generations, so the latest models carry a 'V3' suffix and feature a new logo and redesigned red keychain loop to distinguish them.
