Anthropic has launched a Remote Control mode for Claude Code, freeing users from their desks. This feature enables developers to manage and monitor long-running coding jobs directly from their smartphones.

Remote Control establishes a live connection between a local Claude Code session and the Claude mobile app or web interface. It generates a one-time link or code from the active session, granting another device access to the same context, files, and command history.

Importantly, all code and files remain on the original local machine; the phone acts only as a remote interface for issuing commands or checking progress. This is secured with temporary access tokens that become invalid once the session ends.

To use the feature, users must update to Claude version 2.1.52 and run the 'claude remote-control' command or use the /rc shortcut. It is currently in research preview for Claude Max plan subscribers, with access for Claude Pro users expected soon.
