Expanded Access for Digital Game Owners

Ubisoft has unveiled a new initiative aimed at bridging the gap between console and computer gaming. Players who have purchased digital copies of specific Ubisoft titles on Xbox consoles will now gain access to the PC versions of these games, eliminating the need to purchase the same software twice.

Supported Titles and Implementation

According to an announcement on Xbox Wire, this program covers a select group of 13 titles. The list includes:

  • Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Starting immediately, any new digital purchase of these games on the Xbox storefront will include both the console edition and the corresponding PC version. For those who already possess these titles in their library, the rollout will be gradual, beginning on August 4.

Important Details and Limitations

While this move provides significant value to current owners, there are several key points to consider:

«Purchasing the PC version of any of those games will not get you the Xbox edition.»
  • Data and Assets: Consumables and in-game currencies purchased on the Xbox platform will not transfer to the PC version. However, if a title features cross-progression, your earned game progress will carry over.
  • Software Requirements: To enjoy these titles on your computer, you must have the latest version of the Ubisoft Connect client installed.
  • Platform Exclusivity: This offer is strictly one-way. Buying a game on PC does not grant you the Xbox version.
