CD Projekt Red has officially launched The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered, delivering a comprehensive suite of updates that aim to revitalize the decade-old RPG. The extensive patch notes highlight a wide array of technical and gameplay enhancements, ranging from updated textures and PS5 Pro support to an expanded photo mode.

A major focus of this update is the refinement of Geralt’s movement and combat animations. Players will notice more fluid and responsive handling when jumping, vaulting, or climbing ladders. Furthermore, combat and exploration have been polished with new finishing moves and updated animations for riding Roach, significantly deepening the overall immersion.


Skill System Revamp

The progression system has undergone a complete overhaul. Skills have been reorganized into a structured skill tree, with each ability now featuring three distinct ranks. Several skills have also been renamed to better align with their actual gameplay effects, encouraging players to experiment with entirely new character builds.


New Accessibility Options: The Bard's Ballad

Among the most significant additions is the "Bard's Ballad" accessibility preset. Accessible during the start of a new "Just the Story" difficulty run or toggled mid-game, this feature is tailored to assist players dealing with mental fatigue or difficulty concentrating.

As described by the developers, the goal of this mode is to:

"Streamline gameplay by simplifying certain mechanics and disabling select features for a smoother, more focused adventure."

Advanced Customization Tools

The update introduces several highly requested quality-of-life toggles that were previously only available via fan-made mods. Players can now customize their experience with options such as:

  • Unlimited Item Durability and Boat Durability
  • Infinite Breath and Faster Boats
  • Vitality Regeneration Boost
  • Ignore Item Weight

These features offer unprecedented control over the game's survival mechanics, allowing players to tailor the difficulty and pace of their journey to their personal preferences.


The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered is currently available and is free for existing owners. Additionally, those who own the base game can now claim both major expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, at no additional cost.
