A Versatile Cleaning Solution

Shark has officially introduced its latest innovation in home cleaning: the PowerDetect Transformer. As the name implies, the device is designed to adapt to various cleaning needs by functioning in three distinct formats. The core unit serves as a full-size upright vacuum featuring a large capacity canister. However, users can detach the canister with a single click to transition into a lightweight stick vacuum, or remove the wand entirely to utilize the device as a handheld vacuum for tighter spaces.

Advanced Suction and Brushroll Technology

In developing this model, the engineering team eliminated the traditional, cumbersome hoses often associated with upright vacuums. The full-size configuration delivers maximum suction power, making it ideal for deep cleaning hardwood floors and carpets. A standout feature is the dual-brushroll system, which is engineered to trap significantly more debris and pet hair than standard single-brush models. According to the company, the design proactively prevents hair entanglement, sparing users the tedious task of cutting away trapped strands manually.

Smart Maintenance and Self-Emptying Features

When operating in stick or handheld mode, the vacuum utilizes a smaller onboard dust cup. One of the most convenient aspects of the Transformer is its automatic waste management: once the cleaning session is finished and the vacuum is returned to its upright dock, the contents of the smaller cup are automatically transferred into the main, larger canister. This eliminates the inconvenience of emptying multiple dust compartments manually.

Pricing and Market Context

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer is currently available for purchase through the company’s official website and its TikTok shop, starting at $529. A premium bundle, which includes additional attachments and specialized heads for pet owners, is priced at $650.

While the market for convertible vacuums has grown, Shark’s specific three-in-one approach distinguishes it from competitors. As noted in the industry, other manufacturers have also experimented with hybrid designs; for instance, Eufy previously released a model that combines robotic vacuum capabilities with manual stick and handheld functionality.
