The Path to the Finals

The intense tournament to identify the best RTS unit ever created has reached its penultimate phase. Over the past two weeks, a field of sixteen iconic units has been whittled down through democratic voting, leaving only four champions standing to compete for the ultimate title.

The quarterfinals proved to be a nail-biter, with several high-profile casualties and close margins. While fan favorites like the Peon and the noble Dolphin were eliminated, the competition has shifted focus to the remaining four powerhouses. As we enter the semifinals, the logic behind your votes remains entirely up to you—whether you favor raw power, strategic utility, or personal nostalgia.

The Final Four Contenders

The remaining units represent a diverse range of gaming history, each boasting unique capabilities:

  • The Mammoth Tank: A titan of Soviet engineering. Though notorious for its high cost and sluggish movement, its sheer durability and firepower make it an unstoppable force on the battlefield.
  • The Homeworld Mothership: More than just a unit, this massive mobile factory serves as a portable base, capable of deploying an entire fleet of capital ships while maintaining an iconic, unmistakable silhouette.
  • The Executor Super Star Destroyer: Measuring nearly 19 kilometers in length, this gargantuan vessel is a masterclass in overwhelming force. With an arsenal of turbolasers, it can dismantle entire fleets with ease.
  • The Priest: A master of psychological warfare. Known for the legendary "Wololo" chant, this unit demonstrates that sometimes the most powerful weapon isn't a laser or a tank shell, but the ability to convert your enemy's strength into your own.

Make Your Voice Heard

The bracket has narrowed, and the pressure is on. There are no strict criteria for victory; whether you are voting based on tactical dominance or pure admiration for the unit's design, your input is required. The polls are open until the end of Tuesday (BST), at which point we will finally determine which two units will face off in the ultimate showdown.
