Design Stagnation in the New Ultra Tablet
Recent leaks have provided an early look at the potential design of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. Based on renderings shared in collaboration with the tipster OnLeaks, it appears that Samsung is opting for consistency rather than innovation for its flagship tablet. Users who were anticipating a major aesthetic overhaul may find the design choices underwhelming, as the device closely mirrors the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
The core design elements, including the prominent selfie camera notch, the dual rear camera array, and the slim profile, appear to be carried over directly from the previous generation. The renders depict the tablet in a dark gray or black finish, maintaining the familiar look of the series.
Display and Hardware Specifications
Despite the lack of visual innovation, the Tab S12 Ultra is expected to pack significant power under the hood. Technical rumors suggest the device will maintain a massive 14.6-inch display. This assumption is supported by reported dimensions of 326.34 x 208.46 x 5.12mm. Internally, reports indicate that users can expect high-end configurations, potentially reaching:
- Up to 16GB of RAM
- Maximum storage capacity of 1TB
Regarding performance, there is speculation that Samsung might stick with a MediaTek chipset. While it is expected to be an upgraded version, there are concerns that it may still be based on older architecture.
Insights on Battery and Related Models
The battery specifications also appear to show a conservative approach. Current reports suggest the Tab S12 Ultra will likely feature the same 11,600mAh battery capacity as its predecessor, complete with 45W charging support.
In addition to the Ultra model, information regarding the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus has also emerged. According to images spotted in a Safety Korea database, the Plus model may also feature a design similar to previous versions, characterized by noticeable bezels housing the front-facing camera. Given the stage of these leaks, analysts anticipate a potential product launch in late 2026.
