The centerpiece of this update is a completely overhauled hub. The new design is significantly more compact, allowing it to slide easily under the majority of standard bed frames. Utilizing a water-based system to regulate surface temperature, the Pod 6 boasts a 20 percent faster response time compared to previous iterations. This allows the system to address night sweats or chills with greater precision and speed.
Advanced Biometric Monitoring
The Pod 6 significantly boosts tracking capabilities by incorporating 18 individual biometric sensors. Unlike the Pod 5, which featured only two, this new array provides comprehensive data without requiring the user to wear a tracking device. The system monitors a wide range of metrics, including:
- Heart rate
- Breathing rate
- Heart rate variability
- Sleep stages
- Snoring patterns
These data points integrate directly into the company’s dedicated mobile application. Furthermore, the internal AI and Autopilot system utilize this information to dynamically adjust temperature based on real-time sleep stages and environmental conditions. The company notes that the sensor array is sophisticated enough to differentiate between two sleepers or identify the presence of a pet on the bed.
New Options for Solo Sleepers
Recognizing the needs of individual users, Eight Sleep has introduced a new, more compact size. While this version omits the dual-zone temperature control found in standard models, it offers a more accessible price point for those who do not require independent side-by-side regulation.
Pricing and Accessibility
Despite its technological advancements, the Pod 6 maintains a premium price tag. Entry-level solo models begin at $2,000, with prices scaling up to $3,000 depending on the bed size. Additionally, users must maintain a monthly subscription to the Autopilot service, ranging from $17 to $25 per month.
