The Decision for a Full Solar Array

Living in Scotland, I recently completed the installation of a comprehensive solar energy system at my home. While I chose a full installation, plug-in solar remains a viable option for many. Here is a brief comparison of the two approaches:

  • Plug-in Solar: A more affordable, flexible solution that is perfect for renters or those with limited space. However, they currently cannot store power in batteries and generally do not qualify for export payment schemes.

Ultimately, while plug-in solar kits are gaining popularity and accessibility, a full solar setup provides unparalleled control, resilience, and potential for long-term financial returns.
