The new hardware is engineered specifically for demanding environments, such as high-end software development, engineering, complex AI model training, and professional content production. According to the manufacturer, the M5 Ultra-equipped model delivers over 10 times the AI processing capability compared to the original M1 Max version and is nearly 8 times faster than the previous 2025 flagship.

Beyond raw processing speed, the device boasts modern connectivity standards, including:

Apple also highlighted the gaming potential of the new machines, noting that the M5 series handles titles like Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing enabled at 1.5 times the efficiency of its predecessors.

The entry-level Mac Studio with the M5 Max chip starts at $2,499, while the top-tier M5 Ultra configurations begin at $5,499. For users requiring maximum specifications, the price can climb to $18,299. Pre-orders are currently live on the company's official website, with units expected to reach customers starting September 22, 2026.

Additionally, for users requiring a more compact form factor, Apple has also unveiled a refreshed Mac mini. This smaller alternative starts at $899, featuring the new M6 chip, with an M5 Pro variant also offered for those seeking a middle ground in performance.
