High-End Performance in a Tiny Form Factor

Zotac has introduced the Magnus One Ultra (EU275080C), a remarkably compact desktop PC that manages to house a full-sized Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card. Despite its small 11.46-liter chassis, the system delivers impressive hardware specifications, aiming to bridge the gap between space-saving design and high-performance computing.

At the heart of the machine lies the Intel Core Ultra 7 265 processor. This 20-core CPU operates at a base clock of 2.4GHz and can boost up to 5.3GHz. According to Zotac, this system stands out as one of the smallest available PCs that pairs a desktop-grade RTX 5080 with Intel's latest Core Ultra desktop architecture.

Graphics and AI Capabilities

The system leverages Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture, enabling advanced features like DLSS 4.5 with Multi-Frame Generation, ray tracing, and local AI processing. The included desktop RTX 5080 comes equipped with 16GB of GDDR7 memory, boasting a 256-bit bus and 960GB/s bandwidth. With 10,752 CUDA cores, 336 Tensor cores, and 84 RT cores, the GPU is rated at 1,801 AI TOPS, offering a performance leap of approximately 33% over the previous generation RTX 4080 in gaming scenarios.

Technical Specifications and Expandability

The entire setup is contained in a chassis measuring 126 x 365.5 x 249 mm and weighs about 6.34 kg. Power is provided by an 850W unit, which is necessary given the GPU's 360W rating. For system memory, the board includes two slots supporting up to 96GB of DDR5 RAM. Storage expansion is handled by two M.2 slots, featuring support for both PCIe 5.0 x4 and PCIe 4.0 x4 interfaces.

Connectivity is robust, offering a comprehensive suite of ports:

  • Networking: 5Gbps and 1Gbps Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
  • Peripherals: Eight USB ports (USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Gen 1), and Thunderbolt 4.
  • Display Outputs: Three DisplayPort 2.1b, one HDMI 2.1b, one HDMI 2.0, and a Thunderbolt 4 port.

This output configuration allows for the connection of up to six displays simultaneously. Thanks to Display Stream Compression, DisplayPort 2.1b can achieve outputs reaching 4K at 480Hz or 8K at 165Hz.

Pricing and Availability

According to information reported by PC Watch, Zotac is offering the Magnus One Ultra in several configurations in Japan. Pricing starts at approximately ¥418,000 (~$2,640) for a barebones unit, meaning users must provide their own memory, storage, and operating system. Fully equipped versions—ranging from 16GB RAM/1TB SSD models to a high-end 96GB RAM configuration—are priced between ¥522,500 (~$3,309) and ¥750,200 (~$4,750).
