Xiaomi has launched its latest Android tablets, the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro, positioning them as high-performance devices with "PC-level" productivity to compete with iPads and laptops.

The flagship Pad 8 Pro is powered by the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, boasting an 81% faster CPU and 103% faster GPU than its predecessor. The standard Pad 8 uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, offering significant performance gains as well.

Both models feature an 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. They house a 9,200mAh battery in a slim chassis, with the Pro model supporting faster 67W charging.

Running on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, the tablets emphasize productivity with enhanced multitasking, Workstation Mode, and desktop-style browsing. They also integrate Xiaomi's HyperAI and Google's Gemini AI features.

The Pad 8 Pro starts at £529. New accessories include the Focus Keyboard and Focus Pen Pro stylus. Availability is confirmed for the UK, Europe, and Australia.
