The initiative, highlighted by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in his first-ever social media post, emphasizes that open models are essential for global innovation.
At the core of the debate is the distinction between two types of AI development:
- Open Models: Systems that grant access to weights and underlying code, allowing users to inspect, modify, and run software locally.
