A Collaborative Milestone for Two Iconic Brands

In a surprising and delightful turn of events, Polaroid has partnered with The Pokémon Company to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the legendary franchise, which first debuted on the Game Boy in 1996. This limited-edition collection introduces a variety of instant cameras and photography accessories inspired by some of the most recognizable Pokémon creatures.

New Camera Models and Unique Designs

The collection showcases three distinct camera models, each featuring unique aesthetics:

  • Polaroid Go Gen 3 (Pikachu Edition): This model sports a vibrant electric yellow finish, accompanied by a lightning-bolt-shaped hand strap inspired by Pikachu's tail.
  • Polaroid Go Gen 3 (Sylveon Edition): A charming design featuring the soft pink, white, and blue color palette associated with the Fairy-type Pokémon.
  • Polaroid Now Gen 3 (Poké Ball Edition): A larger camera that utilizes full-size I-Type film, styled in the classic red, white, and black colors of a Poké Ball.

A particularly charming detail across all three models is the custom Poké Ball-shaped shutter button, adding a subtle nod to the source material.

Accessories and Special Film Packs

For those who already own Polaroid hardware, the collaboration extends to a range of accessories. Fans can purchase special-edition Go and I-Type film packs, featuring frames decorated with iconic characters such as Charmander, Squirtle, Clefairy, Pikachu, and Sylveon. Additionally, the collection includes themed camera straps and highly stylized camera cases and photo albums modeled after the classic Poké Ball.

Pricing and Availability

The Pokémon-themed Polaroid Go Gen 3 models are priced at $99.99 / £89.99, while the larger Now Gen 3 Poké Ball edition starts at $139.99 / £129.99. Special film packs are priced slightly higher than standard film, ranging from $22.99 to $24.99 (£21.99) depending on the format.
