A Fresh Look at Familiar Footage

Sony has launched its global "It Happens on PS5" advertising campaign, designed to celebrate the most iconic moments in gaming. While the commercial includes appearances from major titles like Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and upcoming projects such as Marvel's Wolverine, it is the brief inclusion of Grand Theft Auto 6 that has generated the most buzz among the community.

The ad incorporates various elements, including a live-action shot of Miami, clips from prior trailers, and a billboard located in Poland. Although the commercial does not contain any entirely new visual content from Rockstar Games' highly anticipated title, a specific sequence featuring protagonists Lucia and Jason has sparked intense discussion.

The Trunk Closing Sound Phenomenon

The scene in question depicts the duo inside a car trunk, appearing to run at a smooth 60 frames per second. While this specific clip was previously featured in the game's second trailer, this version includes a distinct, crisp sound effect of the trunk lid closing. This minor auditory addition has become a major talking point for fans hungry for any update.

Social media users have been quick to comment on the significance of the sound, with one viral post noting: "GTA 6 appears in a new PlayStation commercial. Previously seen footage features new audio, including the sound of the trunk closing."

Fan Reactions and Anticipation

The enthusiasm surrounding such a granular detail highlights the massive level of anticipation for the game. Fans have taken to the internet to share their reactions, ranging from amusement to genuine excitement regarding the realistic audio design. One observer remarked on the intensity of the fanbase's hunger for news, stating:

«We're so desperate for GTA 6 marketing that a trunk closing sound is exciting.»

Another user added, "Rockstar Games is watching people get excited for the sound of trunk closing and probably thinking to themselves that maybe they overdid it with the silent treatment. Anyway, the sound of that trunk closing is extremely realistic I LOVE IT."

While some skeptics have suggested that the audio might have been added by Sony during the editing process rather than being a final in-game asset, it has done little to dampen the excitement. Players are now turning their attention toward the upcoming extended look, which is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 27. Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated for release on November 19 for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Series S.
