Olight has set a new benchmark in portable lighting with the launch of the Marauder 3. While many flashlights boast high performance, this device stands out by packing the capabilities of a professional-grade searchlight into a handheld form factor. The most remarkable feature is its peak floodlight output of 25,000 lumens, a figure that matches the manufacturer’s much larger X9R model despite the Marauder 3 being nearly 50% smaller.
Versatile Lighting Modes
The flashlight offers incredible versatility for various environments. Users can toggle between a wide-angle floodlight for campsite coverage or a concentrated spotlight capable of illuminating objects up to 1,000 meters away. These modes can also be combined to provide both long-range focus and immediate area visibility simultaneously.
Battery Capacity and Utility
Powering this beast is a substantial 31,900mAh, 118Wh lithium-ion battery. The manufacturer notes that in its most efficient 'Moonlight' setting, the device can operate for an impressive 14 months. Furthermore, the internal battery doubles as a portable power bank. Equipped with a 30W bidirectional USB-C port, the flashlight has enough capacity to charge a modern flagship smartphone approximately six times over.
Smart Features and Controls
The Marauder 3 includes an integrated smart display that provides real-time data, such as remaining battery life and estimated charging time. Other indicators include:

- High-temperature thermal alerts
For operation, the device features a touch-sensitive rotary dial that allows for quick unlocking and activation. To ensure reliability in challenging conditions—such as when wearing gloves or dealing with wet surfaces—Olight has also included a traditional rotary unlock mechanism as a backup.
Durability and Ergonomics
Though significantly more compact than its predecessor, the Marauder 3 remains a substantial piece of hardware, weighing 840g with a length of 152mm and a 75mm head diameter. Built to withstand rough usage, the aluminium housing features an IPX8 water-resistance rating and is impact-tested to survive drops from a height of one meter.
