The National Hockey League (NHL) is enhancing broadcasts with new ultra-high-resolution 10.5K camera systems installed in every team arena. The Cosm C360 Capture System uses a network of unmanned cameras to create immersive, multi-angle viewing experiences.
A key feature is the system's automated ability to independently track each individual player and the puck in real-time. This data is processed via a cloud-based hub to generate detailed live footage and replay clips focused on specific plays and movements.
The league has a multi-year agreement with Cosm, ensuring the technology captures every moment across more than 1,500 games per season. This initiative aims to present the fast-paced sport with unprecedented detail and new storytelling tools for fans.
