Ikea has become a surprising go-to destination for affordable electronics. Following a long wait due to high demand, I finally got my hands on the retailer's Västmärke Qi2 wireless charging stand. While it is incredibly budget-friendly, its performance challenges more expensive alternatives from established brands.

The Västmärke is built with cost-efficiency in mind, utilizing cork and plastic rather than premium materials like metal or rubber. While the aesthetic might feel a bit budget-oriented to some, the use of cork is a sustainable and practical choice. The unit includes a non-detachable 47-inch USB-C cable, though notably, a charging brick is not included in the box.

What truly elevates this stand above other budget options is its full Qi2 certification. This standard offers several advantages over the legacy Qi1 format:

It is rare to find a fully certified Qi2 charger at such a competitive price point. While the design is utilitarian, its functionality is on par with much more expensive hardware. If you can track one down at your local Ikea, it is a highly recommended accessory for anyone looking to simplify their charging setup without spending a premium.
