Design Evolution and New Color Options

As the competition in the foldable smartphone market intensifies with the anticipated releases from Samsung and Apple, Google is preparing its next flagship foldable, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Recent leaks originating from a Telegram channel, Mystic Leaks, have provided an early look at the device. The smartphone is expected to arrive in a striking 'Pine' green color, which is also rumored to be a signature shade for the standard Pixel 11 and 11 Pro models.

Beyond the color update, the device appears to feature a significantly slimmer camera module compared to its predecessors. Despite these design refinements, the phone remains relatively heavy, with reports indicating a weight of 257g, which is noticeably higher than the 215g of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Hardware Upgrades and Modem Switch

Technical documentation filed with the FCC, discovered by Android Authority, has provided insight into the internal components of the device. A significant shift for the upcoming model is the transition to a MediaTek modem, moving away from the Exynos-based hardware utilized in earlier iterations.

The device will likely be driven by the Tensor G6 chipset, built on a 2nm process, and will be accompanied by an updated Titan security chip. These components are expected to provide a substantial performance improvement. According to reports, the phone will be available in configurations with up to 1TB of storage, though consumers should anticipate a price increase of approximately €100 compared to the Pixel 10 series.

Display and Battery Specifications

In terms of dimensions and display, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is reported to measure 4.8mm in thickness when unfolded. The outer display is expected to feature a 2343 x 1080 resolution, while the interior folding panel will offer 2160 x 2076 pixels, maintaining consistency with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Google appears to be keeping the form factor relatively narrow rather than opting for a wider aspect ratio, though users can look forward to slimmer bezels and increased peak brightness.

Regarding battery life, current information suggests a capacity of 4,658mAh. While some industry competitors have moved toward larger capacities using silicon-carbon technology, Google appears to be sticking to more traditional battery architecture for this generation.

Camera System and Launch Timeline

While the physical arrangement of the camera array has been modified to achieve a sleeker look, the underlying camera hardware is expected to remain largely unchanged from the previous generation. The official unveiling of the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold is scheduled for August 12 during the 'Made by Google' event.
