A Bold Departure from Modern Standards
For gamers weary of the predictable nature and polished safety of contemporary shooters, a new project from Sofia-based Incineration Productions is looking to shake things up. Titled Everything is Gun!, this upcoming roguelike FPS aims to merge the high-octane movement of 1990s classics with the dynamic, build-focused experimentation found in titles like The Binding of Isaac.
The Setting and Gameplay Dynamics
Set for a 2027 release on Steam, the game transports players to the prison planet A1-KTRZ. Here, players take on the role of a participant in a brutal intergalactic reality show. Rather than relying on static, scripted levels, the game world undergoes constant restructuring after every death, forcing players to abandon memorization in favor of pure adaptability.
Radical Upgrades and Dynamic Builds
The developers expressed their frustration with the current state of the "safe" shooter market. Co-founder Yuriy Popov notes that the studio's primary objective is to reclaim the raw speed and technical skill required by retro shooters, while layering in sophisticated modern roguelike elements.
«Instead of small boosts, upgrades will radically transform your weapons and abilities. One run might involve you having one specific build when the next has you rocking a completely different one.»
Innovative Multiplayer Mechanics
Adding to the mayhem is a unique multiplayer feature that integrates player data into the campaign. Successful runs can be converted into "Ghost Bosses." These AI-controlled adversaries utilize the movement patterns and strategies of actual players, allowing them to invade other users' sessions and provide unexpected challenges.
A Return to Roots
With its emphasis on extreme speed, punishing difficulty, and procedural unpredictability, Everything is Gun! appears determined to push the FPS genre back toward its chaotic, skill-intensive roots.
