The wait for the Clicks Communicator, a spiritual successor to the iconic BlackBerry design, is nearing its conclusion. The manufacturer has officially confirmed that pre-orders for the device are scheduled to begin shipping this December. Notably, early backers will receive a pleasant surprise, as the production units will feature significant hardware improvements over the initial specifications.
The device will now arrive with 12GB of RAM, a notable increase from the original 8GB offering. Furthermore, the battery capacity has been increased from 4,000mAh to 4,350mAh, providing users with extended daily endurance.
Modern Features in a Retro Form Factor
First introduced earlier this year, the Communicator represents Clicks' first standalone smartphone venture following their success in creating QWERTY keyboard accessories for flagship devices. The phone runs on Android 17 and bridges the gap between classic tactile typing and modern mobile technology.
Key technical specifications of the device include:
- Display: 4.03-inch AMOLED screen.
- Camera System: 50MP rear sensor and a 24MP front-facing lens.
- Storage: 256GB internal memory with support for up to 2TB expansion via microSD.

Pricing and Accessory Ecosystem
Despite the hardware upgrades, Clicks has opted to maintain the original early-bird pricing. Customers can currently purchase the device in Smoke, Onyx, or Clover color variants for $499 (£371.21). Interested buyers should act promptly, however, as the price is slated to increase to $649 (£493) starting October 1st.
To support the launch, Clicks is collaborating with Dbrand to provide a range of official accessories. These include minimalist MNML cases matching the phone's color schemes and a dedicated 'Prism' screen protector. The cases are priced at $39, while the screen protection accessory retails for $34.95.
