A New Heavyweight in PC Chassis Design
During the Computex exhibition, Be Quiet! presented its latest entries into the PC case market: the Pure Base 803 and its premium sibling, the white-finished Pure Base 803 LX. Rather than relying on extravagant aesthetics, the company has focused on pure utility, creating a chassis massive enough to house virtually any high-end component configuration.
Cooling and Performance Capabilities
The Pure Base 803 is engineered to cater to enthusiasts who prioritize performance and versatility. Key technical specifications include:
- Support for up to three 420 mm radiators.
- Accommodations for dual 140 mm rear-mounted fans.
- Four pre-installed Pure Wings 3 140 mm PWM fans.
- Modular front panel system with interchangeable I/O options.
Unrivaled Storage Expansion
One of the most impressive aspects of the new case is its storage capacity. Be Quiet! has confirmed that the 803 can accommodate up to seven HDDs. In terms of raw capacity, this allows users to install a staggering amount of data storage. As noted by industry observers,
"If you were to pick out 4-8 TB drives, you could almost squeeze 100 TB of storage in the chassis, not including any SSDs in your motherboard."While this may exceed the requirements of a typical gamer, it positions the case as an excellent choice for workstation builds or home media servers.
Variants and Availability
The product line will feature two distinct versions:
- Pure Base 803 LX: Features a glass front panel and upgraded LX fans. It will be available in both black and white colorways.
- Pure Base 803 (Standard): Equipped with a solid, non-transparent front panel and standard fans, currently expected to be available in black.
Be Quiet! anticipates a launch window of early next year. While official pricing has not been disclosed, given the manufacturer's typical pricing structure for mid-to-high-end enclosures, the 803 series will likely fall within the $150 to $250 range, consistent with its previous Silent Base and Shadow Base models.
