Players of Arc Raiders are eagerly anticipating the Frozen Trails update, which promises to address various long-standing concerns while introducing a substantial amount of new content, including additional weapons, gadgets, and mechanical threats. While the new gear is exciting, the most notable addition is the long-awaited introduction of player outposts.

Establishing a Home on the Surface

According to an official blog post, the game is introducing the Outpost, a new base of operations located in the region of Pendola Pass. Positioned between the dangerous mountain ranges and the Rust Belt, this new area serves as a primary hub for players looking to reclaim territory on the surface. As noted in the announcement,

“Celeste is offering Raiders who heed her call to explore Pendola Pass a home away from home: the Outpost.”

Customization and Strategic Growth

Previously, player housing was restricted to a single, small room with limited customization options. The new Outpost significantly increases available space, allowing for deeper personalization. Players will be able to modify their base with various interior elements, furniture, and functional modules.

These modules serve a dual purpose, as they are essential for the new weapon amplification system. This system allows players to imbue their gear with unique traits, such as rapid-fire capabilities or flammable ammunition—vital improvements for surviving the harsh conditions of the upcoming Pendola Pass map, which is described as the most challenging environment released to date.
