WWE 2K26's MyRISE story mode is taking a new direction to refresh the experience. This year, players assume the role of "The Archetype," a superstar returning to WWE after a two-year absence, rather than following the traditional rags-to-riches path.
The story, titled "The Comeback," tasks The Archetype with challenging the current champion, either Bron Breakker or Jordynne Grace. While the core gimmick is the same for male or female superstars, the narrative branches differently based on player choices at key junctions, offering moral decisions on how to proceed.
A major new feature is the ability to continue playing MyRISE after completing the main story, allowing for title defenses and pursuits. The reward system has also been streamlined. Instead of replaying story beats, players now earn rewards through a linear tracker by completing RISE Matches, with performance judged by star ratings.
Rewards, which include arenas, championships, playable characters, and MyFACTION content, are still distinct between male and female playthroughs. Teased unlocks include a retro CM Punk and a polka-dot Dusty Rhodes.
