Nvidia’s latest iteration of its upscaling and frame generation technology, DLSS 5, has arrived with a complex reputation. Similarly, high-end cards like the RTX 5090 show impressive averages at 4K, but these figures are heavily propped up by aggressive upscaling and frame generation settings.


Is the Tech Ready for the Average Gamer?

The core issue is whether this technology aligns with the needs of the average enthusiast. For those who invest heavily in premium graphics cards, relying on heavy-handed upscaling just to maintain fluid gameplay often feels counterintuitive. Much like the early days of ray tracing, which required massive performance trade-offs, DLSS 5 demands a high price for its visual output.
