At MWC 2026, Qualcomm has unveiled a comprehensive AI-ready connectivity lineup, headlined by the new FastConnect 8800 mobile system and Dragonwing Wi-Fi 8 networking platforms. The company argues that the AI era demands a fundamental upgrade in how devices connect.
The flagship FastConnect 8800 is the first mobile solution with a 4x4 Wi-Fi radio, achieving peak speeds up to 11.6 Gbps—doubling previous performance. It integrates Wi-Fi 8, Bluetooth 7, Ultra-Wideband, and Thread 1.5 into a single 6nm chip for greater efficiency. A key feature is Proximity AI, which uses multiple technologies for centimeter-accurate device finding and interaction.
For network infrastructure, the Dragonwing Wi-Fi 8 platforms, like the NPro A8 Elite, boost throughput by up to 40%, cut peak latency by 2.5x, and reduce daily power consumption by up to 30%. These systems include a dedicated NPU for on-device AI, enabling smarter traffic management and reduced cloud reliance.
All Qualcomm Wi-Fi 8 solutions are now sampling, with commercial products expected in late 2026.
