Defying the global memory shortage, Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card has reportedly become the most popular GPU on Steam. According to the February 2026 Steam Hardware Survey, the card now holds 9.42% of the market, a massive 6.55% monthly increase.

This dramatic rise, however, raises questions. Analysts point to data showing over half of Steam's surveyed users in February were from China, coinciding with the Chinese New Year holiday. The surge is likely linked to the country's popular internet gaming cafes, where many users can log into the same systems, potentially skewing survey results.

Other notable survey findings include an 18.91% increase in systems with 32GB of RAM, despite high memory prices. Furthermore, Windows 11 usage among Steam gamers declined by 10.43%, while Windows 10 grew by 12.46%, indicating a possible user retreat from Microsoft's newer OS.
