A New Vision for Psychological Terror

Independent game developer Horrified Triangles has released a haunting new cinematic trailer for their upcoming project, Haunted Bloodlines. Debuted at The Horror Game Awards, the preview offers an atmospheric look at the game's central setting: a mysterious, sentient mansion. The announcement also confirmed that the title is officially heading to both PlayStation 5 and PC platforms through Steam.

The Mystery of the Living Estate

Haunted Bloodlines is a first-person psychological horror experience that challenges players to survive within a house that behaves like a living organism. Unlike traditional horror settings, the architecture here is dynamic. According to project details, the mansion constantly evolves—shifting its layout and rearranging rooms as players delve deeper into its sinister history.

The narrative kicks off following the sudden passing of the protagonist’s father. Having inherited a sprawling, isolated forest estate, the player must unravel the dark legacy of their ancestors. As the plot unfolds, the boundaries between what is real and what is merely a haunting illusion begin to dissolve, forcing players to question their own grip on reality.

Gameplay and Survival Mechanics

The core of the experience relies on tension rather than firepower. The developers have designed the game with a focus on absolute vulnerability:

  • No Combat: Players are defenseless and cannot fight back against the dangers lurking in the dark.
  • Stealth-Oriented: Success depends entirely on the player's ability to remain quiet and hidden.
  • The Threat of 'HER': Players must constantly evade a mysterious and lethal entity identified only as 'HER'.

As noted by the developers, the house itself acts as an antagonist. "The mansion is a place where rooms rearrange themselves and where memories that do not belong to the player begin to surface," the studio explains. Every exploration choice carries weight, as a single error can lead to a fatal outcome.

From Student Project to Commercial Title

Haunted Bloodlines has seen a significant evolution since its inception as a student project. The team at Horrified Triangles has since expanded the scope and vision of the game into a full-scale commercial release. For those eager to test their nerves, a free demo is currently accessible on Steam, offering a brief, terrifying glimpse into the mansion's corridors ahead of the full launch.
