Status of CD Projekt's Secret Projects

CD Projekt is currently managing a massive lineup of titles, including the next installments in The Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises, as well as various remakes and expansions. Amidst this busy schedule, the company is still quietly developing two mystery projects known by their codenames, Sirius and Hadar. During a recent H1 investors call, Karolina Gnaś, Vice President of Investor Relations, confirmed that work on both titles is ongoing, though fans should not expect a release in the near future.

Updates on Project Sirius

Regarding Project Sirius, Gnaś addressed concerns following recent downsizing within the development team. According to the company, these adjustments were necessary to align resources with the project's current requirements. She noted:

«Pre-production is ongoing, and at this stage we are focused on testing different solutions and ideas we develop. This project is very different from our other projects because it's focused on multiplayer. So there's a lot of learning and testing in this particular one.»

Project Sirius, which is set in The Witcher universe, has had a turbulent history since it was first introduced in 2021. After the acquisition of studio The Molasses Flood, the game faced significant development hurdles, leading to a reboot and a shift in the studio's operational independence.

Progress on the Hadar Concept

Information regarding Hadar remains even more limited. Unlike the studio's established franchises, Hadar is an original intellectual property. The company intends to create an «emotional, open world experience,» but the game is still strictly in the conceptual phase. Despite being in development for several years, Gnaś clarified that the team is currently in a state of prototyping.

However, there are signs that momentum may increase soon. The development team for Hadar currently consists of over 30 people, with plans to expand to 50 developers by the end of the year. For now, the focus remains firmly on testing core mechanics and gameplay concepts.
